A French 18 carat gold quarter repeating lever watch, made by Breguet in Paris, France, circa 1890. The open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and has an inscription on the back lid and a gold cuvette. There is a repeating slide in the band at four o’clock to activate quarter repeating.
The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold Spade hands. The movement has a lever escapement, bimetallic cut compensation balance and wolf’s toothing.
The case and cuvette have matching numbers, cuvette and box are signed.
