A very fine and rare French/Swiss, 18K gold and enamel oval basket form pendant watch with a concealed dial, circa 1800. A fermée type, the spring-loaded cover with champlevé flowers on a black ground revealing the dial, the body decorated with champlevé flowers on a black and blue enamel ground, rope twist handle with suspension loop. White enamel dial, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions and Arabic quarters, eccentric winding hole. Gold Louis XV hands. A hinged, gilt brass full plate movement, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, plain three-arm brass balance, pierced and engraved continental cock, silver regulation dial. Dial signed. Property of a Swiss Gentleman.
