Gold, enamel and pearl-set chatelaine watch

An ornamental French 18 carat gold, enamel and half pearl-set open faced pocket watch, circa 1790. Full plate movement, key wind, chain and fusee, a cylinder escapement and three-arm brass balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track with Arabic quarter-hour numerals and open-work gold hands. The case back with a polychrome enamel gallant scene on a translucent cobalt enamel engine-turned ground framed by a border of gold and translucent light blue paillons, the bezels are set with split pearls on both sides. Accompanied by a matching three-piece silver, gold and enamel half pearl-set chatelaine with silver clip, signet and winding key.
