A French 18K varicoloured 18K gold and diamond-set quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1760. A Louis XV case with a rose-cut diamond-set bezel chased with a repeated interlaced ribbon pattern, the back with varicoloured gold flower bouquet within a flower border, outer border to match the bezel, rose-cut diamond-set thumb-piece. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, large Arabic five-minute numerals and pierced gold Louis XV hands. A gilt brass, full plate movement, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, index regulator on a silvered plate, pierced and chased continental cock with polished steel endplate, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed.
