A very fine French 18K varicoloured gold, enamel and diamond-set pocket watch, circa 1760. A Louis XV case, the back chased with flowers and scrolls, a cherub and dog below, centred by the painted enamel scene The workshop, the front bezel chased with flowers and scrolls, rose-cut diamond-set thumbpiece.

White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals intersected by diamond-set indexes, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals, diamond-set hands. A hinged gilt brass full plate movement, pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, brass three-arm balance with flat spring, continental cock pierced and engraved with scrolls, polished steel endplate, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate. Movement signed.
