Gold repeating pocket watch by Prignan

A French 18 carat yellow gold, hours and quarter repeating à toc, key wound, open faced pocket watch, late 18th century. This watch features a movement with a verge escapement, an openworked and engraved cock, and a fusée chaîne system. It has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals for the hours, an outer minute track with Arabic numerals at fifteen minute intervals, and gold hands. The case is made of 18 carat gold, with azure and guilloché decorations on the bottom, featuring spheres and flowers, and a chiselled edge on the middle. The work is signed Prignan à Paris on the movement.
