Gold open faced key wound pocket watch

A French 18 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch with striking mechanism, made by Pierre Le Roy in Paris, mid 18th century. It has a key wound mechanical movement with cock and advance/delay setting, verge escapement, and a striking mechanism triggered by the pendant. The movement is signed Pierre Le Roy, Paris. The enamel dial features Roman numerals for hours, Arabic numerals for minutes, a railroad minute track, and an opening for the winding square. The hands are missing and damaged. The hinged case is decorated with foliate motifs on the back and bezel and is numbered with period hallmarks.
