An important, single handed splendour coach clock hour self strike and alarm clock, circa 1620.
Brass case, firegilt, pierced and florally engraved band, the front of the hinge engraved with a winged cherub head, rear bell. Brass dial, firegilt, inlaid radial Roman numerals, applied silver chapter ring with Arabic numerals and four lancet shaped ornaments for alarm, single iron hand. Full plate movement, firegilt, signed, applied florally engraved and pierced decorations, gut/fusee, baluster shaped movement pillars, two barrels, one barrel with applied florally engraved and pierced decorations, 1 hammer, verge escapement, applied blued iron click work, locking plate covered by a florally engraved and pierced cock, three arm brass balance with spring, florally engraved, pierced balance cock with winged cherub face
