A fine 18 Carat gold pocket watch, made by L. Fernier & Frè’s, Besançon, France Circa 1890. Four body, bassine and polished case the back cover with an engraved foliate monogram, a hinged gold cuvette and a glazed gold rimmed cover over the movement.
White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer gold dot minute track and Arabic five minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and blued steel spade hands. Matte gilt movement 17 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring and an index regulator.
Movement signed on the dial plate.
