A French 18 carat yellow gold and enamel open faced keywind pocket watch set with diamonds, circa 1790. (Louis XVI period) This watch features a cock movement with verge escapement. It has a white enamel dial signed Valère à Paris with Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minutes track with Arabic fifteen minute numerals, and Louis XVI style hands (The glass is missing). The blue enamel case is decorated with palm tree embellishments and is set with rose cut diamonds, and the bezel is also set with rose cut diamonds.
