A very fine and rare French gold and enamel duplex pocket watch with 15-day power reserve made for the Chinese market, circa 1860.
The case back with a very fine miniature polychrome enamel painting of a bouquet of summer flowers on a blue ground. Silver dial, engine turned and engraved, applied floral gold decoration, inlaid radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, blued Breguet hands. Gilt frosted movement, key-winding, florally hand-engraved, winding indication sector calibrated for 15 days on the barrel cover driven directly from the pinion mounted on the winding arbour, duplex escapement. Movement signed.
