A very fine and rare French 18K gold, small, montre de souscription with ruby cylinder escapement by Breguet Paris, circa 1806. Montre à médaillon, sold to Prince Grassilovill. Engine-turned with milled rims, the glazed back engine-turned with a sunburst. Gold detachable cuvette with apertures for winding and regulation.

Gold engine-turned dial with radial Roman numerals on a brushed chapter ring, inner minute track with dot markers, centred with a sunburst, secret signature at 12. Blued steel Breguet lance hand. Gilt brass movement, the calibre with central going barrel, overhanging ruby cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with pare-chute suspension, flat blued steel balance spring, blued steel regulator arm. Dial, cuvette and movement signed.
