Gold and rose diamond-set watch

A very fine and rare Swiss, vari coloured gold and rose cut diamond-set pocket watch with dumb quarter repeating à Toc, circa 1750. The back is decorated with a scene of a shepherdess and sheep with a seated gentleman playing the pipes within a landscape, scroll and leaf border, diamond-set bezel and thumb-piece. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and Arabic five minute numerals. Rose diamond set hands.
Hinged gilt brass movement, full plate with tapered pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain three arm steel balance, flat balance spring, pierced and foliate chased continental type balance cock with polished steel end piece, silver regulation dial with blued steel hands, repeating on the case activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed.
