Gold open faced verge pocket watch

A very fine and rare Swiss, varicoloured 18k gold pocket watch painted on enamel concealed erotic scene, circa 1750. A Louis XV case, the bezel chased with a repeated design, hinged back cover decorated with a pastoral trophy, opening to reveal the inner dome and painted on enamel scene of a couple in their boudoir, engraved border. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals. Pierced gold hands. A matte gilt, full plate movement, fusee and chain, verge escapement with micrometric potence adjustment, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental pierced and chased cock with polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial.
