A fine and rare English 22K gold, agate-mounted pair-cased pocket watch, circa 1750. Chased repousse case, rococo gold, back and bezel set with panels of translucent striated agate over foiled metal. Innercase is polished, shuttered winding aperture.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost Arabic five minute numerals. Blued steel Beetle and Poker hands. Hinged, frosted gilt full-plate movement with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved single-footed cock, silver regulation dial. Movement signed.
