A French 18K pink gold quarter repeating pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton, circa 1825. An Empire case, engine-turned, bolt between 10 and 11 for revealing the erotic automaton with varicoloured gold figures operated in unison with the repeating. GiIt brass cuvette fixed to the movement ring. Silver, engine-turned dial with radial Roman numerals on a brushed reserve, outer minute divisions, and a sliding gold plaque revealing the erotic scene at 6. Blued steel Breguet hands. A frosted and gilt full plate movement, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain 3- arm balance, continental cock, silvered regulation dial, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Signed sliding automaton plate.
