French “Oignon” verge with original leather case Circa 1700

An important and very early Oignon with extraordinary case decoration and mock pendulum, in fantastic original condition with original key, Merlier Paris, circa 1700. An original case with leather cover, nail decoration, attached to the watch the probably original watch chain with original key, very early, fire-gilt verge movement with central winding and pendulum, signed plate, fire-gilt cartouche dial, blued iron hands, in our opinion completely original condition. An almost identical watch is exhibited in the Musée de la Chaux de Fonds!
