A very large, heavy and fine French hour repeating clockwatch with extravagant hour and quarter hour self strike, circa 1810. Very complicated gilt verge movement, self striking hours and quarter hours, very rare striking combination, hours double strike, quarters single strike, repeating hours by small button on pendant, also rare hours double strike. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals and blued Breguet hands. Solid silver case with reeded mid section, casemaker’s punch FRT, lateral lever on case for stopping the sonnerie. Dial signed.
