A very fine Swiss, silver, military, keyless deck and pocket chronometer with Guillaume balance, circa 1938. Deck and pocket chronometer with Guillaume balance by Ulysse Nardin, Locle. Made for the British Navy, the case with Glasgow import marks for 1938-1939. Polished bezels, engine-turned screwed-down back with a milled edge. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 19 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, Anibal-brass Guillaume balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, swanneck micrometre regulator. Dial, case and movement signed, the dial and movement with British Ministry of Defence broad arrow mark.
