A rare, heavy French verge pocket watch “Oignon” with alarm, circa 1700.
Case is silver, pierced on the band for sound, rear bell. Dial is silver, champlevé, central silver alarm disc, Roman numerals, one handed. Full plate movement, signed Yver le Fils Angoulesme, chain/fusee, florally engraved barrel, 1 hammer, three-arm steel balance.
