A technically very interesting French deck watch with special chain winding, virgule escapement, special dial 2 x 60 minutes and Souscription Breguet hands, circa 1806-1820.
Fire gilt case, decorated, winding by pulling the chain, or alternatively via central shaft. Extravagant and very interesting movement with virgule escapement. White enamel dial, 2 x 60 minutes, Arabic numerals, Breguet Souscription steel hands, signed “Laborie“.

The watch is very extravagant and highly interesting, it was most likely used for observation purposes. The French watchmaker Laborie worked at the same time with such famous watchmakers as Breguet and is also famous very experimental and inventive pieces. Amongst others, he made, as well as Breguet, as one of the first French watchmaker pocket watches with the complication “Seconde Morte”.
