Precision pocket watch with metal dust cover

A precision pocket watch, made by the Uhrenfabrik Union Glashütte in Sachsen, Germany, circa 1900. The open faced case of this watch, which is crafted from 14 carat gold, has an engine turned back lid with an empty cartouche in the center. The cuvette is marked Metall Staubdeckel (metal dustcover) and the white enamel dial has an Arabic gold five minutes outer ring, black Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The numbered movement has a Glashütte precision lever escapement, a fine adjusting device, a gold lever and a gold escape wheel.
Case and movement have matching numbers and case, dial and movement are signed.
