Gold full hunter cased lever watch
–
A rare and large hunting cased Louis XV pocket watch made by Julius Assmann in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1900. The very unusual Louis XV case of this watch was crafted from 14 carat gold, is sunray engine turned on both sides with a vacant cartouche on the front lid and bears the Assmann punch mark. The white enamel dial features Arabic hour numerals, an outer track with minute divisions, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and gold hands. The numbered fine quality movement is fitted with a moustache lever escapement and fine adjustment device.
The case and movement have matching numbers, and the dial, case and movement are signed.
