Gold, enamel cylinder pocket watch

A very fine, thin Swiss, 18K gold and enamel pendant watch, circa 1840. River Landscape by Mottu, Geneva. The back with polychrome enamel seen of an alpine valley with a river flowing through framed by white champlevé enamel with foliate sprays, the bezel decorated to match the frame. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold engine-turned dial with Roman chapter ring, the centre and outer with floral and foliate decoration, outer dot minute divisions. Blued steel spade hands. A gilt brass movement, bar calibre with going barrel, cylinder escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Dial and movement signed.
