The Hahn brothers, Christian Gottfried (born in 1769) and Christoph Matthäus (1767–1833), along with Johann Georg and Immanuel, worked in their father Philipp Matthäus Hahn’s workshop in Onstmettingen, Kornwestheim, and Echterdingen. Christian Gottfried and Christoph Matthäus later became “Hofmechanikus” in Stuttgart. Christian Gottfried was also recognised in Berlin and North America. In the two-volume work Philipp Matthäus Hahn 1739–1790: Part I Catalogue, Part II Essays, published by the Württemberg State Museum in Stuttgart and Christian Väterlein in 1989, Part I of the catalogue features a watch with a similar dial on page 505, which originated from Philipp Matthäus Hahn and was crafted in 1775.
