Andreas Stahel (Stahl, Stachel), Augsburg Son of Bernhard Stahel (ca. 1560-1589). Stahel became a master on July 2, 1589 and died in either 1634 or 1635. He signed his watches “AS” on the plate and one of his pieces is a watch for a cabinet of curiosities created for Philip II, Duke of Pomerania. Stahel produced numerous pendant watches and sun dials. Stahel’s creations can be seen in a number of state museums, for example in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Kassel. Others are held by the Kunsthistorisches Museum of Vienna and the Louvre in Paris or are part of collections such as a private collection in New York and the Beyer Collection in Zurich
