An exquisite Swiss 18 carat gold, enamel and diamond set pendant form watch with concealed dial designed as a scarab, circa 1890. Glazed bridge movement with a cylinder escapement and gold screw compensation balance. Small white enamel dial with black Arabic hour numerals, red 12, an outer minute track and spade hands. A scarab shaped case featuring engine turned translucent light blue enamel, spring loaded, wings studded with rose cut diamonds, the diamond set neck is decorated in champlevé style, the head and hinged belly are realistically chased and engraved, the eyes set with rubies.
