A Swiss 18 carat gold keyless pocket watch made for the South American market by Paul Jeannot in Geneva, Switzerland, circa 1890. A fine gold hunting cased keyless pocket watch, cover and caseback engine turned. On the inside, and has an empty cartouche on the front lid. The champlevé enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The border of the dial is embellished with applied gold flowers. A nickel, 4/5 plate movement, damascened in different patterns, 18 jewels, pivoted detent escapement, cut bimetallic two arm compensation balance with going barrel, screwed chatons (setting). The case, movement and cuvette have matching numbers. The dial and the cuvette are signed.
