Gold keyless watch with chronograph

A very fine and rare Swiss 18k gold, minute repeating, hunting cased keyless pocket watch with chronograph, circa 1883. Accompanied by an Extract from the Archives. The front and back covers with engraved with foliate monograms. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and concentric fifths of a second track, Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel spade hands.

A nickel plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 36 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised and calibrated straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, steel chronograph work activated by a button on the band, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Dial, cuvette and movement signed.
