An impressive, high quality Swiss 18 carat rose gold hunting cased minute repeating lever pocket watch, circa 1890. Glazed bridge movement, two hammers, two gongs, a piston tooth lever escapement and screw compensation balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, an outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade & whip hands. A plain case. Dial signed, case numbered.

Marc Plojoux was a Geneva watchmaker with an excellent reputation, specializing in watches with complications. His workshop was located at 30 Rue du Rhône. Plojoux was honoured with two awards during the 1878 Universal Exposition in Paris. He also won a gold medal in 1880 and participated in the 1896 Swiss National Exhibition in Geneva. The movement of this timepiece lives up to the reputation of this company, it impresses with its extraordinary quality.
