Gold minute repeating hunter

An English 18 carat yellow gold minute repeating keyless pocket watch made for the Indian market, circa 1900. The cover and case back are engine turned. Gold stamped satiné dial with radial Roman numerals, the centre and the rim with gold scrolled floral decoration, subsidiary seconds at 9 with blued steel Fleur-de-Lys hands. Minute repeater on two steel gongs by two hammers, activated by the slide located on the case band at 6 o’clock, twin barrel differential winding. A gilded brass movement, ¾ plate, eight day going, two going barrels, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator, diamond end stone, repeater work on the main plate, under the dial. Duplex escapement signed by Emanuel & Comy./To the Queen/1, Burlington Gardens/London.

The movement of this watch is unfortunately, not signed. It is probably built in a Swiss workshop, most likely in the Vallée de Joux. In any case, it is extremely rare to find a minute repeater mechanism mounted on an eight-day going movement, here with two barrels and differential gearing.
