An English 18 carat gold open faced keyless lever chronograph watch with 52½ minute carrousel, circa 1896. 3/4 Plate gilt finished lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, diamond endstone, 52½ minute revolving carriage. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer calibrated 1/5th seconds ring, two sunken subsidiary dials for 30 minute register with red Arabic numerals and constant seconds. Plain case, chronograph operated through the crown, five joint knuckle. Case and movement numbered, case and cuvette stamped with casemaker’s initials PW and London date letter for 1896.
