In the late 1950s, Patek Philippe discovered a number of complicated movements from the early 20th century. This small number of movements was cased in modern cases made by Antoine Gerlach. It is easy to distinguish the similarity between the pocket watches cased in the same period with sharp edges and straight case lines. This piece is extraordinarily rare, only seven examples are known. Each example has a slightly different case. Consigned by a highly important collector, no other example with this case design can be found, rendering this watch a possibly unique example.
