A Swiss 18 carat rose gold open faced minute repeating split second chronograph watch, circa 1890. Retailed by Marsh & Hoffman, Albany, NY. 19”’ Nickel lever movement, repeating on two hammers. 18 Carat gold cuvette. White enamel dial, Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Split chronograph mechanism activated by a pusher in the crown and one in the band. Blue enamel monogram to the case back. Movement signed by maker and retailer, cuvette and case signed by maker. With an Extract from the Archives confirming sale in 1892.
