A French gold and polychrome enamel pocket watch by Berthoud à Paris, circa 1790. Gilt full plate cylinder movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge, silver regulation. White enamel dial, black Roman numerals, black outer minute divisions, winding aperture at 2, gilt beetle and poker hands. Polychrome enamel decorated open face consular case, pastoral scene of a dog with doves to the back. Movement signed.
