John Graff was an exceptionally skilled Swiss portrait enamellist, who produced work for many noble families across Europe. He also specialised in portrait miniatures of Indian and Chinese dignitaries.
–
The movement of this piece is complicated. The clock watch feature will automatically sound the times, thus at the hours, the hours will be struck, whilst on the quarter hours, the hours and quarters will be struck.  The repeating functions are powered by their own barrel and spring and as such, the crown will wind the repeating barrel when wound one way, and the mainspring when wound the other.

This city of Sirohi, in southern Rajasthan state in western India, was formerly the capital of the princely state of Sirohi ruled by Sirohi Jat rulers. Maharao Kheshri Singh KCSJ of Sirohi was born in 1857 and ruled from 1875 until his abdication in 1892. He died in 1920.
