A heavy Swiss gold hunting cased pocket watch minute repeater with chronograph, attributed to Le Coultre & Borgeaud Switzerland, circa 1890.
White dial with Breguet hands. 18 Carat gold, hunting case with 3 gold lids, makers punch LB, precision lever movement with a fine adjusting device. Repeating hours, quarters and minutes, chronograph. Polished case.

There was a formal, crucial partnership between Antoine LeCoultre and Auguste Borgeaud. In fact, this partnership saved the company from financial ruin and laid the structural foundation for what is known today as Jaeger-LeCoultre. By the late 1850’s, despite Antoine LeCoultre’s brilliant engineering mind and precision inventions, the company faced severe liquidity issues and financial distress. Antoine was a masterful artisan, but the business required commercial stabilisation. To overcome this, Antoine partnered with Auguste Borgeaud (a skilled merchant, watchmaker and accountant) in around 1859.
