Pocket watch with enamel painting and calendar

A rarity this double sided verge watch with enamel painting and calendar, probably made in France circa 1760. The fantastic open faced case of this watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold has a rose an green gold relief edge and is glazed on both sides. The front face has an enamel magnifier painting, an off center time dial at 12 o’clock, gold hands and the regulating scale under the dial, whilst the patented calendar with date and weekday on the back (Lépine à Paris, Invenit et Fecit) has steel hands. The movement has a verge escapement.
