A rare French 20K gold and enamel open faced verge pocket watch with genre painting The Barber Surgeon, circa 1760.
À goutte case, the borders on both sides are decorated with an engraved geometrical pattern and applied enamel flowers, the backside with an opaque enamel plaque depicting a genre painting, a large lateral hinge, case maker’s mark PBC under the crown. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, Arabic minutes and stone-set hands. Frosted gilt full plate movement, keywind, chain and fusee, square baluster pillars, three-arm steel balance, large florally pierced and engraved balance bridge.
