Platinum and gold perpetual calendar cushion-form

A very fine and rare Swiss platinum and yellow gold perpetual calendar cushion-form open faced watch with moon-phases, made in 1922, retailed by gübelin, circular nickel lever movement, 19 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance.
Silvered dial, Breguet numerals, subsidiary dials for day, month combined with leap year, date, and fan-form aperture for moon-phases and ages combined with seconds, cushion-form case in platinum and yellow gold, stepped bezel, arched pendant, snap-on case back with applied monogram and 1954 presentation engraving, case, dial and movement signed Gübelin, case and movement numbered for Audemars Piguet.

Audemars Piguet confirms production of this watch in 1922 and sale in 1924 to Gübelin.

The present watch bears a presentation engraving to the case back for President Dwight D. Eisenhower, 34th President of the United States of America.
