An extremely splendid Swiss hunting cased pocket watch with a concealed calendar, made for the Russian market, circa 1880. The pocket watch features a silver case with an early Art Nouveau design. It bears the Russian silver punch and the master’s mark K & R with the serial number 763. The front face of the watch showcases an enamel dial with a patent number, Roman radial hours, an outer minutes track with Arabic five-minute numerals, a subsidiary dial for the seconds, and Louis XV-style hands. Meanwhile, the back is glazed, allowing a view of the movement. The enamel dial displays the date and day of the week in Cyrillic. The watch has a Swiss lever movement based on patent 5356.
