A French gold, enamel, polished metal and split pearls open faced verge watch, circa 1790. Gilt full plate verge movement, pierced and engraved balance bridge. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals with outer minute track. Polished metal case back, centre with enamel cartouche bearing ‘les hommes sont egaux en droits’, both bezels set with two rows of split pearls, outer protective ring. Movement and dial signed, movement numbered.
