The present watch is an important example of a pair cased watch in the 18th century style. Of the few known pieces in this style, each bears a different allegorical scene in enamel. A similar example with movement number 68972, just one digit after the present watch, is exhibited in the Patek Philippe Museum. Another pair cased example featuring an enamel dial and a scene of a courting couple admiring a birdcage is illustrated in M. Huber & A. Banbery, Patek Phillipe Watches.
