Gilt center seconds watch for the Chinese market Circa 1850

A fine, rare and large Swiss silver gilt, enamel and split pearl set open faced center seconds pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1850. Gilt metal ‘Chinese Caliber’ movement with gilt bridges engraved overall with scrolls, balance with blued halberd style screwed weights, glazed dust cover. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, spade hands and center seconds. Case decorated on both bezels and bow with split pearls, polychrome enamel to the case back depicting a bouquet of summer flowers over light purple ground. Case signed.
