A Swiss enamelled pocket watch for the Chinese market, circa 1850.
Gold plated case; the bezels and the pendant set with turquoises, the back cover engine-turned and translucent green enamelled, decorated with the depiction of a young girl holding a bird in her hand; with reeded band, lavishly florally engraved dome and English pseudo hallmarks. Enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, centre seconds and spoon-shaped hands. Bridge movement, keywind, gilt, lavishly florally engraved, signed, with lavishly florally engraved going barrel, lever escapement and five-arm steel balance.
