Gold open faced keywind lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 18 carat yellow gold open faced presentation pocket watch with polychrome enamel painted portrait made by D. Bachelard & Fils in Geneva, circa 1850. It has a mechanical key winding movement with a lever escapement and ten jewels, inscribed with a serial number. The white enamel dial features black Roman numerals for the hours, an outer minute track, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and classic blued steel Breguet style hands. The timepiece is housed in an 18 carat solid yellow gold lepine case with a coin edge case band. The case back is decorated with a detailed enamel portrait miniature surrounded by a dark blue and gold floral border. It comes with a winding key.
