Gilt-brass drum shaped clock

A museum quality, one of the smallest Renaissance drum clocks, provenance: Landrock collection, probably circa 1580.
Early verge movement without hairspring, iron balance, gut string, case mark Aster. Fire gilt dial with 12 raised dots and central compass rose, Roman radial hours, and iron hand. High, brass, fire gilt case, three legs, laterally decorated with three angel figures and floral motifs.

Provenance: Landrock collection, illustrated in the ‘Uhren der Sammlung Landrock’ page. 239. The three legs are probably later, and the movement was restored several times over the centuries. The plate is punched with a blossom.
