Gold double sided lever watch
–
A numbered extremely rare hunting cased double sided ladies’ pocket watch made for the Russian market by Jules Monard in Genève, Switzerland, circa 1895. The case of this watch is crafted from 14 carat gold and has a spring cover mechanism on both sides. The white enamel dial on the front has Roman hours, outer minute divisions, Arabic five minute numerals, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and spade hands, on the skeletonized reverse a very rare calendar featuring a chapter ring with the days of the week in Cyrillic and a further outer ring with the date. The movement has a fine Swiss lever escapement.
The dial is signed.
