A rare Jones caliber type B watch in a gold case, made by the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, circa 1873. The case of this watch is crafted from 14 carat gold and features engine turned spring and back lids, beautifully adorned with floral engravings, with an empty cartouche at the center of the spring lid and a flower motif at the center of the back lid. The enamel dial features an outer minutes and hour track with Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and fine Breguet steel hands. The numbered Jones caliber type B movement is equipped with a lever escapement and is marked International, New York.
