A fine, Swiss 14 carat yellow gold, double dialled, keyless hunting cased pocket watch, with a calendar on the reverse based on B. Haas Jne & Cie, Genève, circa 1890. This watch features a nickel plated lever movement with a jewelled anchor escapement, a cut bimetallic compensation balance, and a double sided spring cover mechanism over the crown, all of which are glazed on both sides. It has two dials: an enamel dial at the front with Roman radial hours, an outer minutes track with Arabic five minute numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, and gold spade hands; at the back, a view of the lever movement, along with displays for the day of the week and date, operated by hands from the centre. The solid 14 carat yellow gold à goutte case bears a monogram on the polished front cover and features a skeletonised back.
